The path to drawing confidently starts with this simple idea... 15 minutes in your sketchbook, everyday.
Most of the journaling I have done in my sketchbooks falls into three categories. Vacation journaling/drawing, instructional note taking/drawing and New ideas/testing of techniques.
The image on the right shows three examples illustrating these three categories.
Top: Vacation journaling/drawing
Middle: Note taking/drawing
Bottom: Ideas/ testing of new techniques
Here is a list of drawing topics I came up with at 5:37 AM on a cold Wednesday morning..lol. Draw and write these things: What you ate, How it is made, How you feel about the day, The things you are wearing? How did you sleep? What are you going to do for that day, Your favorite blend of coffee, Your dreams, animals of the season, The temperature, The company you had the night before, The things you did yesterday, household objects, the disorder in you life, the goals and hopes you have in the coming year, dinner plans, fruit, places you are visiting, pets that are around you, anything and everything.... you get the idea.
